Spatial Planning Section
The Spatial Planning Section is responsible for the strategic design and management of land use within the municipality, ensuring orderly urban development and efficient land allocation.
Functional Mandate
- Preparation and Design of Layout Plans for residential (high, medium, and low density), institutional, and commercial land uses, following the identification of suitable and available land.
- Identification and Planning of all Vacant and Undeveloped Land within the municipality to determine its optimal future use and development potential.
- Management and Maintenance of the Municipal Land Information System (LIS) or Land Bank Database, ensuring accurate and up-to-date data on land parcels.
- Formulation of Policies and Strategies for Accelerated Land Delivery and Efficient Land Management.
- Processing, Technical Evaluation, and Making Recommendations on all Land Application and Allocation Proposals in line with council priorities.
